Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński: Word and Deed

Presented by: Andrzej Józef Dąbrowski

This lecture is a tribute to the legendary poet, compared by literary experts to Juliusz Słowacki. A poet who, during the German occupation, also wanted to be a soldier, because he believed that his poems calling for rebellion against the evil of war should be accompanied by a fight with a rifle in hand. He died at his post on the fourth day of the Warsaw Uprising, hit in the head by a bullet fired by a German sniper. He was only 23 years old. He left behind 500 poems, many of which have found their place among the most outstanding lyrics in the history of Polish literature.
